MediaBank is starting fresh 

For the first time, it combines our visual AI search and data-based search into a single index. The result: hits that really understand what you're looking for, not just what you're typing.

The New AI hybrid search as the heart of the relaunch

This approach is particularly evident in search — the heart of any DAM system. No matter how large a media library is, if content can’t be found quickly and intuitively, even the best system falls short.

Over time, search in MediaBank has grown — both technically and functionally. But with that growth came increased complexity. Especially for occasional users, navigating the system sometimes became a challenge.

That’s why the search experience is completely reimagined . Interface, logic, result presentation — everything was rebuilt from the ground up. Our goal: a search experience that serves both audiences equally well. Simple, visual, and inspiring for newcomers. Precise, deep, and efficient for power users.

The key challenge: until now, classic structured search and AI-driven search existed side by side — with separate logic and separate results. In the new MediaBank, these two worlds merge into a seamless hybrid experience.

What used to be separate now comes together: classic data-driven search and AI LLM- search form a unified experience in the new MediaBank. Structured precision meets intelligent automation — delivering more than either approach could on its own. AI is not an add-on here. It is the core of our platform.

More Transparency with the New Tile View

In many DAM systems, search still feels like a black box: you get results, but it’s rarely clear why a specific asset appears. Was it the file name? A tag? Or a visual match detected by AI?

With the new tile (card) view, that ambiguity is gone. Each search result now explains itself — directly on the tile. You can immediately see whether an asset truly matches your query.

Why This Matters

We have completely rethought and unified the search experience in MediaBank. Our search now combines two worlds:

  • Visual search — AI LLM recognizes image content

  • Data-driven search — tags, file names, albums, locations, and more are taken into account

This makes results more precise — but also more complex. That’s exactly where the tile view comes in. It creates transparency by showing why a result appears and where the information comes from.

At a glance, you can see whether an image was suggested because of its visual characteristics — or because metadata in the background triggered the match or both.

That’s why it is not prefferrable to rely on external, off-the-shelf solutions. Developing AI isn’t an end in itself. The in-built AI allows us to respond more quickly and precisely to individual requirements — and not just think about innovation, but actively shape it.

And that is the decisive difference: while many providers rely on purchased modules or generic AI features, MediaBank is designed from the ground up with AI in mind.  AI is not an additional feature added later. It is part of the architecture — and therefore part of the MediaBank DNA.
